“24 Preludes” by Jyldyz Maldybaeva

In January 2026, Kyrgyzstan will witness the release of a remarkable music album — “24 Preludes” by Jyldyz Maldybaeva, the first female composer of Kyrgyzstan, performed by acclaimed pianist Alexey Kholodov. The recording is taking place at the Concert Hall of the Central Music School under the Moscow Conservatory.

The album features 24 preludes and two piano pieces, capturing the essence of Kyrgyz melodic heritage blended with the sophistication of academic artistry. This initiative aims to preserve and promote the cultural legacy of Kyrgyz classical music.

Jyldyz Maldybaeva — People’s Artist and Honored Cultural Figure of the Kyrgyz Republic, professor, and member of the Union of Composers — is recognized as one of Central Asia’s most significant contemporary composers. Her music fuses national traditions with modern forms, a legacy inspired by her father, Abdylas Maldybaev, one of the founders of Kyrgyz classical music and namesake of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Alexey Kholodov, an award-winning pianist and graduate of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music and the Moscow Conservatory, brings exceptional artistry and deep sensitivity to this project, celebrating the enduring spirit of Kyrgyz musical culture.
